Greetings from inside the mini-bus! These small buses run right in front of our literacy school in John Howard. I ride this bus to a downtown station then transfer to another similar bus taking me to Roma Township where I live! Read my February letter to feel what the ride is like! Thanks for praying for my safety!Posted by Picasa

This is me standing with Mirriam Lungu, one of my Zambian ESL students. I am 67 years old and planning to retire from foreign service in 2013. God willing, I'd like to begin English literacy classes through my local church in Louisville, KY; become a Mail Box Club teacher with Source of Light, do volunteer work in Louisville, exercise, keep healthy and active for the Lord's service

Welcome to my blog!

Dear Friends,

Thanks for logging onto my blog! I hope to be able to keep you more informed as to my personal activities as well as BALM.

Prayer Requests:
1. Pray that God would provide the right apartment or house for me in March. I have to be out of my present location by end of April. PRAISE GOD! HE PROVIDED A LOVELY 2 BEDROOM FLAT IN CHELSTONE FOR THE PRICE I CAN AFFORD!

2. Pray for Phestus and Peter as they will be traveling long distances by bus, train, and foot to get to the villages where Tonga literacy classes are starting in Livingstone, Sesheke and Kazangula districts.

3. Pray that God would provide a larger building for our school. Right now our 30+ students are very crowded in three rooms.

4. Pray for the spiritual growth of our students who are teaching their families and friends the Bible truths they are learning at school. Some have said, "We are learning more about God's Word at literacy school than in our churches!"

5. Pray for George Tembo, who is no longer with us, as he heads up Tutor Training Workshops for the Southern Baptists. We in BALM are merely his advisors and no longer co-workers.
